What is Physical Therapy?

Physical therapy is meant to promote proper
movement and function for those individuals
with disabilities and/or injuries.  Physical
physical therapist or a physical therapy
assistant under the supervision of a
physical therapist.  Physical therapists
examine individuals and develop a plan of
care to encourage function, decrease pain,
and prevent disability.

What does a physical therapist do?

A physical therapist utilizes exercise and
manual techniques to educate and promote
maximum function in an individual with any
movement dysfunction.
Who can benefit?

individuals who suffer from orthopedic,
neurological, cardiopulmonary, and
developmental disabilities.  Common
diagnoses include but are not limited
to:

  • Back pain

  • Neck pain

  • Post-op

  • Sports injuries

  • Joint replacements

  • Parkinson’s Disease

  • Congestive Heart Failure

  • Workplace injuries

  • Down Syndrome

  • Autism

  • Cerebral Palsy
